Tineco's Floor One i7 can fold 180° flat
There's a new brand of wet vacuums for CBON editor Aloysius Low to test
Vacuum cleaners have always been a fascination of mine. From robot vacuums to stick cleaners, I’ve always liked testing and trying out new models. And I’ve gone through plenty of brands, from the usual suspects of Dyson and Ecovacs to the ones from Korean tech giants Samsung and LG.
So I guess the fact that I’ve been ignoring Tineco (pronounced Tin-co as the e is silent) isn’t a good look for me. A subsidiary of Ecovacs, Tineco specialises in wet and dry stick vacuums, and believe you me, I’ve heard good things about them, but I never really followed up.
That all changed when I laid eyes on the new Floor One i7 Fold, a very slim wet and dry vacuum with the ability to fold flat 180°C, letting you clean under furniture easily. The fold feels very similar to the Shark CleanSense IQ, though I guess it’s not really a new design.
It also features 22,000Pa suction, is capable of tackling hair and pet fur without tangling, and dual-sided edge cleaning. The Floor One i7 Fold also comes with hot water cleaning and a 85°C hot air drying to prevent mouldy smells.
I’m curious how it will perform against the Dyson Wash, which is impressively slim and light. But that’s a review for another day when I have both units on hand to compare (I’m currently testing the Dyson PencilWash).
Retailing at S$599 usually, I’ve seen it as low as S$489 at Harvey Norman. That’s a very competitive price, similar to offerings from other brands. The home appliance market is shaping up to be one to watch, and if you’re soon moving to a new home, or even upgrading your older tools, now’s a good time to start shopping.
